What freaks me out about the guy is his influence on the way politics are played (and I choose that last word deliberately) in North America. If the truth is told, it's a bonus. Telling the story is all about playing to the crowd and rousing emotions. My MP has mastered his techniques brilliantly -- which means that the last election was won on rhetoric rather than substance. As someone who is more a fan of accuracy, accountability, and feasible plans, I find that frustrating. The fact that elections can be won in this manner is the most disturbing fact of all.
Thanks for your comment, PH. Off to check out your post.
