Food Tool 5: Moms’ Favorite Online Recipes for Babies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers (Plus a Few Mom-Invented Recipes, Too)
Online Recipes
Here’s a roundup of the recipe links that arrived in my in-box when I asked the members of the parent advisory panel for this book to share some of their baby, toddler, and preschoolers’ favorite online recipes.
Note: Recipe sites are notorious for moving their links around on a regular basis. That’s why you’ll also find an online version of this chart at Motherofallsolutions.com (use the on-site search tool to search for “Food Tool 5” or look for a link in the blog). I’ll keep this chart updated with new links as links break or I’ll provide links to similar recipes, if some of these recipes eventually become unavailable.
As I noted in Food Tool 4, you are the best judge of what foods are right for your child right now. What’s suitable for someone else’s child may not be suitable for your child at all. You may need to slice, dice, grate, chop, or purée some of these foods to make them suitable for your child. And some of these foods may not be suitable at all, for allergy reasons. If in doubt, consult with a dietitian or your child’s healthcare provider.

Looking for additional recipes and meal suggestions? See Food Tool 4, the cookbook suggestions in Appendix C, and the recipe links in Appendix B. Many of the links lead to searchable databases containing thousands of online recipes and sites that will allow you to download entire recipe books for free. For health and safety reasons, always keep your child’s age and stage in mind, as well as any known or potential food allergies, when you’re assessing the suitability of a possible recipe.
