@anndouglas

Now that I've entered the fun and fast-paced word of Twitter (@anndouglas), I decided I needed a single jump page to map out my online world.

PREGNANCY AND PARENTING AUTHOR, BLOGGER, AND COLUMNIST; MILD-MANNERED MOTHER OF FOUR

MotherofallusI 'm the author of a bestselling series of pregnancy and parenting books, The Mother of All Books series, and other books for kids and adults.

I blog about pregnancy and parenting for both Yahoo Canada! and Parent Central.ca (The Toronto Star's online publication for GTA parents). I also write the "Misconceptions" column for Conceive Magazine, the "Snapshots" column for City Parent, the "Ask Ann" column for What's Up Kids, and a number of other articles and columns.

I try to keep my online archives relatively up to date, along with the parenting resource pages which can be found at The Mother of All Blogs.com.

I'm also a mom of four kids, ages 11 through 20.

SOCIETY AND CULTURE: SOCIAL JUSTICE ACTIVIST, POLITICAL JUNKIE; NOT-SO-MILD-MANNERED ESSAYIST AND BLOGGER

Maple-leaf-on-rocks-ann-douglas I spend a lot of my time working for change at the local and national level. The causes I am passionate about include media and political literacy, media concentration, freedom of the press, mass consumerism, the environment, creating an informed and engaged electorate, political reform, voting reform, political accountability, and social justice. (And that's just for starters.)

I am deeply concerned about Canada and the world on so many levels.If you read what I've been writing about in my blog about social justice and political change, you'll get a sense of what really matters to me and why. (BTW -- I've spoken at conferences and written essays on such topics as my experiences as a political campaign newbie, the commercialization of the momosphere, having a child with special needs (Asperger's), etc.)

ARTS AND CULTURE AND PUBLISHING, OH MY!

Vote-for-art I am passionate about the indie-craft movement (particularly where it overlaps with activism to become craftivism: too cool!), the buy locally movement, the citizen journalism movement, the indie music and indie film movements, and the new models of book and periodical publishing that are being explored right now.
